Battle of the Books is a national reading competition for Deaf and hard of hearing middle school students (grades 5–8), hosted by Gallaudet University. Teams read a selected list of books and compete in a variety of quiz-style challenges—multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and even presentations. The event strengthens literacy skills, builds teamwork, and encourages school spirit in a fun and engaging way.
