    Magaly Sanchez

    Chief Family Advancement Officer

With a career spanning over two decades, Magaly Sanchez draws from her rich tapestry of leadership experiences at the district and school level from positions she has held both in the Commonwealth and Rhode Island. She has consistently championed equity, inclusivity, and the success of the students she is in service to, especially those historically marginalized.

A graduate of Providence College and the University of Rhode Island, Magaly embarked on her journey as an educational leader with a clear vision: to bridge gaps, forge powerful student, family and community relationships, and foster an environment where every student could flourish. In her most recent role as Curriculum Data and Assessment Manager, Magaly was responsible for the development and oversight of sustainable systems that increased equitable access and student success within programmatic pathways. As a result, she sought and was approved for DESE’s Early College Program and she successfully received authorization for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB-DP), making the school one of two urban high schools in the south coast to obtain IB designation and one of 943 IB Diploma Programs offered in the United States. Magaly has also served as Chief of Family and Community Engagement, Director of Student Registration and Assignment, Director of Implementation, and founding principal for an urban high school where she led the development of the school’s climate and culture, and personalized, mastery-based curriculum.

Magaly's approach to education is rooted deeply in community and understanding the needs of her students and the families that she is in service to. As Chief Family Advancement Officer she will oversee multiple departments and serve as the principle advisor on providing comprehensive and proactive district and school family engagement strategies and plans with a focus on improving academic outcomes for all students through authentic family partnerships.
