• Literacy

Our approach to literacy is designed to be engaging and comprehensive, starting with our elementary students.1 In grades 3-5, we use the EL Education curriculum, which focuses on project-based learning and in-depth studies of topics through reading, writing, and research. This curriculum helps students become strong readers and writers by connecting learning to real-world issues.2 As students transition to middle school in grades 6-8, we use StudySync. This program offers a dynamic digital platform with a wide range of diverse texts and multimedia content, encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and lively classroom discussions. It also helps students master the skills needed for success in high school and beyond

    Mathematics

Our mathematics program is built on a foundation of deep understanding and problem-solving. For all students in grades 3-8, we use the Illustrative Mathematics (IM) curriculum. This program is designed to develop a strong conceptual understanding of math by engaging students in rich tasks and problems.3 It encourages them to think like mathematicians, using reasoning and communication to solve challenges.4 The IM curriculum helps students build a solid foundation in number sense, algebra, and geometry, preparing them for more advanced math courses in the future

    Targeted Student Support

We believe in supporting every student’s unique learning journey. That's why we dedicate a specific part of our day to an intervention block. During this time, teachers work with students in individual and small-group settings to provide tailored support in both reading and math. We use a variety of resources to address specific learning needs, whether a student needs extra help with a difficult concept or a chance to work on enrichment activities. This personalized approach ensures that all students receive the support they need to feel confident and successful in their academic pursuits.
