Step 3: Observations and Artifacts

  • Observations and artifacts serve as evidence to inform formative and summative evaluations. After an educator's goals are approved, both educators and evaluators may submit artifacts on VectorEvals+PD throughout the year.

ARTIFACTS

  • After an evaluator approves an educator’s goals, both educators and evaluators may submit artifacts on VectorEvals+PD throughout the year. Artifacts show how an educator is meeting goals and standards. They allow educators to communicate aspects of their practice that are not always apparent during observations.

Next Steps

  • Artifacts to document work and observations to document practice set a strong foundation for the mid-year assessment or formative.

OBSERVATIONS

  • Observations are an opportunity to assess an educator’s performance and to provide feedback to guide growth. For each observation, the evaluator will record evidence and then provide feedback through the VectorEvals+PD platform (however, this should not replace face-to-face, post-observation conversations).

Note to Evaluators: Observations

  • 1. Announced observations must be followed by a post-conference. Observations may vary in length and are not limited to classroom instruction.

    2. Evaluators must record evidence and provide feedback in VectorEvals+PD within 5 days of the observation.
